Officially a Flower Farm

We are beyond excited to announce that we are officially a flower farm! We just purchased a property in Millville, NJ with 29 acres of farm and wildlife conservation land. I have been working hard to plan out what flowers and produce we will be growing next year, so stay tuned! Gary and I had the pleasure of meeting the previous owners, George and Wanda, and seeing them on multiple occasions prior to us closing on the property and thereafter. They are a wonderful couple who have a lot of history on this property, and we want to embrace the hard work they put into land to make it what it is today.

Wanda had shown me around her gardens that she kept throughout the years. There are beautiful lilac bushes, lily of the valley, and a lovely herb garden that surrounds a pergola with a swing. She told me to do whatever I want with them, and I could sense a hint of sadness behind her voice, to which I replied, “Perfect! I will leave them right where they are!” I told her she saved me a lot of time by already having those herbs where they were. I plan to use them each year for our family cooking as well as dry and sell them at our farm stand.

A lot of times people want to completely uproot what already exists when they buy a property. I can understand that to an extent because people want to make it their own. But in the case of this property, Gary and I see so much potential with what already exists that we do not need to make any drastic changes. The garage is going to be my floral studio and workshop, where I will host floral design parties and have wedding flower consultations. The barn will house all of our equipment and Gary can have his mancave space to unwind.

We have seen many deer and turkey on the property so far! The kids love going on an evening drive around the yard to check out the local wildlife. This is going to be such a great learning experience for them.
